stations early in Lpril. Central v.rould appreciate having comments from you and your borrowers on these programs. We expect to carry the series for an indefinite period with tne hope that our listening audience will increase from week to week. The following programs have been arranged for the next four weeks:

YOUR COUNTY Himeographed announcements for your bulletin board concerning ON THE AIR radio programs offered by other county departments, including
the Library, will soon be distributed to branches and stations. These broadcasts f~ature the work of county government. As a department with service outlets reaching a. widely dispersed population we are happy to cooperate with other COlL.'1ty agencies in publicizing their radio programs.
HOME WORK Chosen as one of the judges of the American Legion Essay Contest AT WILMAR 1.~rs e Arnold of Wiluar tas been spending her evenings after the
library closes reading and evaluating the work of the contestants, some of whom may become national contenders. She is also one of the leading members of the cormnittee of local residents who have been raising a memorial to the dean of I.'ia:::k Keppel High School, IE:iss Vihite, who died recently. More than $200 has boen obtained for USC uy the Girls' Council. S};:ie has also been helping the Bo:,r Scouts .with their honors work.
REDECORATION Although we are r eluctant to discontinue service, in the case FOR of the two weoks closing of Montebello it is a step forward. MONTEBELLO The city vvill redecorate the branch completely and two weeks
will be required to do the job. The branch will be closed beginning Monday, May 9, and will not open again for service until Monday,
